San Luis, 6^th November 2011. Exim Bank Team China finished off the FIA GT1 World Championship 2011 in a phenomenal manner. In Argentina the team clinched its first qualifying and championship race of the season and on top of that gave the Corvette C6.R a brilliant farewell present. For their debut on the mouth watering circuit in the Argentinean hills the Dutch duo Yelmer Buurman and Francesco Pastorelli, at the wheel of the Corvette surprised the GT world by winning both races. The Corvette, bearing the colours of the Chinese bank was the hero of the entire weekend!

BEIJING, 13^th September 2011. This week Exim Bank Team China is leaving Asia, and travelling to the workshops located near Brussels, in order to prepare for the final round of the World Championship, to be held at San Luis in Argentina. Over a period of some ten days the team travelled with both Corvette C6.R cars from Ordos to Peking, competing in two races and a similar number of demonstration runs on the programme.

Chinese FIA GT1 World Championship tour a success!

MERCHTEM, 29th August. This week Exim Bank Team China is leaving Europe for a trip around the world which coincides with the final rounds of the 2011 FIA GT1 World Championship. For these last races the team is entering two Corvette C6.R, one for the Chinese-Dutch duo Ho-Ping Tung and Jeroen den Boer bearing start number #11, whilst the car with start number #12 will be in the hands of the Frenchman Michael Rossi together with the Brazilian Sergio Jimenez. Both cars are in the full Exim Bank Team China livery and with two rounds in China, team manager Patrick Selleslagh has marked these off as good results in red in his agenda. 

In this 2011 edition of the GT1 World Championship with races held in Ordos (Mongolia), Beijing (China) and San Luis (Argentina) the Exim Bank Team China is competing with two fast and young teams on the two Corvette C6.R GT1 cars:

#11: Ho-Ping Tung (China-29) – Jeroen den Boer (NL-21)

#12: Michael Rossi (Fra-23) – Sergio Jimenez (Bra-27)

NAVARRA. 3 juli 2011. SRT staat dit seizoen in voor de inzet van de Corvette C6.R van het kersverse FIA GT1-team Exim Bank Team China. Het team behaalde tot dusver punten in iedere van de vijf kampioenschapsraces van het WK GT1, maar de uitstap naar Spanje, op de smalle en bochtige omloop van Navarra bracht niet wat er van mocht verwacht worden. In geen van beide races zag de Corvette de finishvlag, hoewel de intrinsieke snelheid er zeker was. Een aanrijding in de eerste race, doorkruiste echter de plannen van de Corvette-rijders. In Noord-Spanje was het overigens de Belgische belofte Nico Verdonck die naast Mike Hezemans in de wagen plaatsnam en hij bevestigde wat van hem verwacht werd. SRT maakt zich nu op voor de volgende race, de verplaatsing naar de bijzonder snelle omloop van Paul Ricard in Frankrijk.

PAUL RICARD. 17^th July 2011. This season SRT has taken on the responsibility of entering the Corvette C6.R for the brand new Exim Bank Team China FIA GT1. The French round of the World Championship, held on the fast Paul Ricard circuit, and following on from the Spanish round a fortnight earlier, was once more a disappointment for Patrick Selleslagh’s team. In neither of the races of the seventh round of the GT1 World Championship did the Corvette C06.R see the chequered flag, notwithstanding the fact that the intrinsic speed was definitely there and that the team had deserved to score points.

Mike Hezemans and Andreas Zuber were back together following a strong weekend at the Sachsenring and during the free practice and qualifying sessions it looked as though the Belgian run Corvette C6.R GT1 would once again be playing a major role.
